About Me:
I've always found it difficult to sum up 42 years of life in a few paragraphs, but here goes.

We've been homeschooling for 5 years and have run the gamut from school-at-home to unschooling and the Lord has led us to the happy medium that is Heart of Wisdom. We began homeschooling when my parents, both public school teachers, threatened to take my children away if we did NOT homeschool! Now there's an endorsement!

I'm married to an amazing mechanical engineer/U.S. Navy officer, who never ceases to make me laugh. I married him because he was the first grown-up I dated and he was the only guy I didn't get bored with after a week! He continues to surprise me after 17 years.

I'm a second generation Colorado native (third generation if you count my grandparents who came here from Russia when they were 2). I'm an all-or-nothing perfectionist who is passionate about the printed word, scrapbooking, organizing, Star Trek, and the Navy. I have a screen addiction that I battle daily! I'm a learning junkie, having attended 5 colleges/universities with 11 majors (yes, I did eventually graduate with a B.A. in Communication). And homeschooling has provided an avenue for me to continue learning without tuition charges! What a revelation!

I've loved learning about the Hebrew people all my life but hadn't made the connection between their religion and mine until the past year. My faith has acquired so much meaning now! What joy! I'm humbled by God's leading me to all of this.

What If It's All Wrong?

I was reading on one of the several blogs I visit every morning and came off completely . . . tired. I'm so tired of trying to be a Berean even though I have no idea what I'm doing. I have no degrees in Hebrew, Greek, or divinity studies. I'm just a homemaker who's trying to find the Truth. Did all those Christians down through the ages die believing the wrong thing? What if THIS is the wrong thing? I've been a Christian my whole life. I didn't grown up in one particular church. My mom was rai… Continue

Yes, we've been talking recently about buying raw honey from a local guy. We did that a few years ago, and it did seem to help some.

Ha...sorry to disappoint you about FL. and allergies.;)

Hope all's well in your beautiful CO world!:o)

I've tried the honey, and it works for the most of the time. I've learned that when I lived in CO :)
I need to find local honey here in IN.
I am leaving here shortly....I am canning today and the gasket in my pressure cooker is worn out. See you soon.

Hi Jerzy,
LOL my allergies are horrible this weekend too. We were out all day today, so the least I can say is: "I am very miserable" :( I hope we get some rain soon.
I am praying for you.

By the way, I have some new pictures posted on my homeschoolblogger blog too - did you see them too?

Yes, it sounds like you had a similar weekend to mine. Just when I think it is going so well too! Dh's opinion is that Sabbath is about him. If it refreshes him or makes him happy, then it is good to do. He really believes that is what "Sabbath is made for man, not man for the Sabbath" means. Thanks for letting me know you struggle too. I will keep you and your dh in my prayers.

Hi Jerzy. I hope you are having a nice long weekend. Are you doing anything special? I haven't seen you around for a few days.

Nope, no ice storms here.:o) That's probably up in North GA., which is a beautiful (mountainous) area. We usually camp up there (about 8hrs. away) at least once a year.

Have a blessed Sabbath!!

It's hazy here too, but I think it is moisture. It is pretty - not smoggy.

Have a great day.
