I just got back from spending a week at a Christian camp as the camp nurse. I just got your message. Yes, I am still here, just have been busy lately and haven't had time to spend much time online. Yes, I am still counting even though my start date is different than yours. Today, July 19th is day 35 by my count. My husband and I have had some great discussion about the extra 50 days on the count, especially the reference in Acts about the day of Pentecost and the mocking that the men were filled with "new wine". I really do thank you for pointing out that there are two counts. I have spent much time lately listening to messages on CD and reading the scriptures. It has been a blessed time. I do wish we had a local Messianic congregation. We are very isolated in Wyoming and would love to fellowship with like-minded believers. Right now, the only real fellowship we have is online. I did get the opportunity to speak up for Torah observance at camp this week with mixed results. One pastor I talked to said the law brought a curse. I pointed out that there were layed out blessings AND curses and that we have been redeemed from the CURSE of the law, not the law itself. He couldn't really argument with that. Of course, I got the argument that if I keep any part of the "law" I am "bound" to keep the whole law by one of the ladies helping in the kitchen. It was also interesting to see how many different ways you can serve pork products this week! I did refrain from eating it. It was a little easier since one of the campers was a vegetarian so they didn't sneak pork in the green beans, etc. I think following G-d's dietary commands is one of the most difficult things for people to swallow, pardon the pun. It is a deception of Satan that is firmly established along with the Sunday sabbath. Only YHVH can change hearts and minds in these areas but I was excited to share it this week even though it was not well received. I can only hope the seeds will produce fruit in the future.
Shalom,
Mary
We're at the bottom of the St. Vrain. :-) We live 5 miles east of Longmont. I've driven through Nederland, though. It's probably changed a lot since you've been here. Natives joke that we've been Californicated!
Funny you should mention messianic congregations because I'm on the hunt for one. My dear hubby isn't ready to change churches just yet but I've only found one that I may start visiting. It's in Niwot. Since I'm new to this whole mindset I'm a bit anxious but I know the Lord will lead us where He wants us.
Kudos to you for driving a school bus! My dad drove a school bus, as well as a tour bus, in Lakewood for a couple of years after he retired from teaching. My parents both live in Loveland now.
I take it you are no longer in Colorado. Do you miss it?
Love ya, always ~
