I was talking with friends at lunch today and one of them said, "Our fellowship is more like a family room, than a typical church sanctuary". I thought that was a perfect description.:o)
Hope you're having a great evening!
Wow, as I read your reply I thought I had written many of your.sentences LOL :) I'm so glad I have met another mom of "an only child" who shares the same views we do about Torah. The struggles of hs an only child in the Torah movement is so different of that of families with more children. I totally understand your school explanation, I feel the same way.
We did move over here in hopes of a Torah group or Messianic congregation, only to find the opposite to our hopes. We are considering a Seventh Day church, at least they keep the Sabbath and some of the Dietary laws. The one we are looking into it has a youth group. We haven't gone there yet, we just got the information from another Messianic friend who attends a SDA church in her area, due to the same reasons you and I have for our children.
We are part of FFOZ board, maybe we can chat there also.
I will try to PM you not sure how the PMs work over here.

This has been my heart's cry for years. When we were in full time ministry we seemed to always be part of a congregation, that one of the few children was my DD, and never one her age. We are now out of the ministry (pastoring) and we have never been able to find a place of worship with children her age.
The other day, I was chatting with a good friend about this, I was doing some Heart-2-Heart talk and said to her: "It's so much easier to look back into Egypt" Oh, how I have regretted saying this for that week's Parasht was on Caleb and all of the complaint Israel did about God, Moses and etc.... So any how, my friend said: "Have you considered that God knows all about DD and her deepest spiritual needs? He has a reason as to why she hasn't had much contact with other children her age" I have, but needed to be reminded again.
After that conversation I have prayed a lot and thought a lot, I know this is one point the enemy knows it can hurt me, so keeps pushing at me. But, I keep going back to Him and laying at His feet. For me, it's way to easy to get side tracked and look into the other greener lawns. Only for me to find out the price they are paying to keep their law so green.
Why are you putting your son back into school? The thought has crossed my mind, only for the sake of "friends" for her. But then again I have read sad stories of Messianic kids and the persecution that had to endure in Christian school, because of dietary laws, Feasts, day of worship and etc.
Blessings,
Katia
P.S. I'm sorry this turned out so long ;o)
We too have an only child. She is going to be 14 years old. We like FFOZ and Zola, never heard of Bill cloud.
Looking forward in knowing you more.
Blessings,
Katia
