Our Hebrew Roots

Exploring Our Biblical Heritage

After last weekend I am happy to say that we had a much better week starting about Tuesday afternoon and reaching through the weekend and starting this week.

Tuesday through Friday school went well. I've been making time each day to get into the sun to help with my vitamin D deficiency that my doctor told me about. It really picked up my spirits too. I am suspicious that the vitamin D pills that I'm supposed to take weekly gave me a major crabby reaction, so I am going to try to do it naturally if I can.

Saturday we had a relaxed Sabbath. I've toned it down, and I've had some great conversations with my dh about it. I'm still seeking the Lord about how it should look in our family, but also I'm working at honoring my husband and staying under his spiritual covering in this.

Sunday we went to church. We arrived early so that we could go and see the booths people have set up for their Sunday School classes and other ministries. I'm not sure we really fit into this church anymore, but we've made some friendships over the past 3 years and I don't think it is time to make waves with my dh on this or anything else along these lines. It is disappointing that after 3 years of being a part of this church and their missions board and after receiving some gifts (like snow tires and money to go to Mexico last May) that they still don't even list us as missionaries that they support. I understand that they only have a limited budget and can't add any more long-term missionaries to their monthly support list, but I don't understand that they don't list us on their "missionaries that we support" list. Somehow it seems wierd.

Today we had a great day of school this morning. It was relaxing. We got so much done before lunch that I haven't even felt pressured to make the girls do any more this afternoon. All three of them weren't feeling good after lunch anyway, so they laid around and read books and magazines. I did a little more school with Elly, but she didn't feel herself either, so we stopped after about 20 minutes.

I do have a prayer request. I'm pretty sure that my 9 yo daughter, Jaedyn, is having seizures again. This summer she was having some sleep-walking episodes, that we suspected was seizure-related, or perhaps caused some seizure activity. Yesterday morning, however, she had an incident where she passed out as she was walking across the room, and I am pretty sure, by the look on her face, that it was a small seizure. This is the first one she's ever had that happened while she was awake. She has also been complaining that she feels like she has "feathers in {her} brain" off and on this summer. I'm very disappointed, because I was really hoping that she would outgrow them. She's been on medication twice for these, both times they've stopped and she was seizure-free for at least a year, but here we go and they are back. Please pray for wisdom for us and the doctors, and for healing for her. She is also having stomach and intestinal issues again.

Relying on His Faithfulness,

Carol

She is doing much better. We had quite trip with her this fall. We had her on seizure meds that made her very sick and she was almost down to nothing but skin and bones. She was depressed and very weak. She could barely eat or do school work. I finally had to TELL the doctors that I was taking her off the medication and she is not having more seizures or any of the things I just listed. Praise God she is gaining weight too.

Hey Carol,

Sending prayers heavenward for His intervention in your little girl's health and that you'll get the vitamin D you need in the way that you need it, whether naturally or otherwise.

I'm glad to hear your school days are going smoothly.
