Matt and Jacque Dixon, with their daughters, Miss Amanda, 19, and Miss Jocelyn, 17, created Gleaning the Harvest after seeing the need of support for widows and fatherless families in the home school community. Though Gleaning the Harvest is a ministry founded by Matt & Jacque Dixon, it is designed as a ministry of the Body of Christ. Through Gleaning the Harvest, you are given the opportunity to fulfill what James calls “pure religion”.

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

You can read more about this new ministry and how you can support moms who are widowed or have fatherless children at gleaningtheharvest.com

Purim we like to watch the story of Easther on DVD with family and good friends and booo and ahh as tradition has taught. Then we join the community for the reading in schul, booing ,ahhhing and spinning groogers and clickers as well as the blast on the shophars.. Most of all it is just good to remind us how GOD has never let us be totally wiped out, no matter what tyrant swears hateful things to us.
