Hanukkah

Hanukkah (also spelled Chanukah or Hanukah), is an annual festival of the Jews celebrated on eight successive days to honor the restoration of divine worship in the Temple after it had been defiled by heathens.

Katie, do you have a Bible with the Apocrypha writings? If you do, read the book of 1 Maccabbees - if not, look it up online. This is where the holiday comes from. I think if you don't know about the holiday yet, best to get your first information from scripture...
