Our Hebrew Roots

Exploring Our Biblical Heritage

Was what we call "Church" founded on anti-semitism?

I stared this discussion the other day in the anti-semitism group and thought I would also post it here for those who are not joined with that group:

I have struggled with this since I first began to really study my Bible. I quickly came to believe that everything I had ever been taught was terribly wrong and I went on a mission to find out why. I also feel, in my humble opinion that this was foretold in the Scriptures:

Daniel 7:24-26 (Amplified Bible)
24 And as for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise; and another shall arise after them, and he shall be different from the former ones, and he shall subdue and put down three kings.
25 And he shall speak words against the Most High [God] and shall wear out the saints of the Most High and think to change the time [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the law; and the saints shall be given into his hand for a time, two times, and half a time [three and one-half years].
26 But the judgment shall be set [by the court of the Most High], and they shall take away his dominion to consume it [gradually] and to destroy it [suddenly] in the end.

I believe, and I am curious to see what others here think, that this speaks of Emperor Constantine, who people have blindly called the "father of Christianity". Here is an example, a declaration from Constantine himself regarding the changing of the holy Sabbath Day:

"On the venerable day of the Sun (Sunday) let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits because it often happens that another day is not suitable for gain-sowing or vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost." The Council of Laodecia further states: "Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday, but shall work on that day."

And of course, it did not take too long before the subject of Passover came along, which due to time limitations right now I will start a seperate discussion about.

I would love to hear comments from others.

Shalom Shannon, I believe that it is obvious to any serious student of the Scriptures, that modern xtianity is definitely anti-semetic. Oh, most xtians will say that they love the "jewish people" but in truth their hearts are far from it! Sabbath is not the only area in which xtianity has changed YHVH's word to His people. It (xtianity) has changed every moed set by our Creator. They have replaced YHVH's Word with times and seasons which are an abomination to YHVH. The mitzvahs of YHVH are our connection to Him. These appointments bring us closer to His divine will. And when people choose to change these, they lose their connection to Him. JMHO

I too was amazed at the differece between the scriptures and what I was taught. Have you ever heard of Michael Rood? His teachings are very imformative and helpful.

Yes, I have one of his videos on my home page and plan to add some more. He has a You Tube page with tons of videos. I know some people think he is a little out there but it's what he teaches that matters...he really gets people's attention. If you haven't already looked at his videos page the link is A Rood Awakening's Channel.

I have saw most of his videos. My husband is a part of his website, Aviv moon network. We have been to one of his conferences and chatted with him a few times. I have had trouble with him at times but my great and wonderful husband reminds me it is about his teachings not his personality! LOL I am glad he got our attention!!
